Russia to Acquire 1,500 New Aircraft by 2020

The Russian Air Force is considering acquiring over 1,500 new aircraft to increase the number of its high-precision weapons by 2020, a deputy Air Force commander said.
Lt Gen Igor Sadofyev said the country is to acquire and modernise 2,000 aircraft and helicopters by 2020, including 1,500 new and 400 modernised aircraft.
Over the next year the Air Force plans to procure Su-27SM, Su-30M2 and Su-35S multi-role fighters, Su-34 fighter-bombers and Yak-130 combat trainers, as well as Ka-52 and Mi-28N attack helicopters, Mi-8 armed assault helicopters and Ka-226 and Ansat-U light multipurpose helicopters.
According to Sadofyev, the Russian Air Force's share of high-precision weaponry will increase 18-fold, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), which are expected to escalate six-fold.
The number of all-weather aircraft will increase five-fold, while the share of UAVs will constitute 30% of the total by 2020, according to RIA Novosti.
