Indian Air Force to Introduce BrahMos Missile in 2012

Source: Air Force Technology

The Indian Air Force will introduce the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in 2012, following the completion of the weapon’s integration with the air force’s Sukhoi aircraft.
Currently, the BrahMos Aerospace and Sukhoi team is making some necessary changes and identifying the alteration needed in the missile, following which, the weapon will be introduced in the aircraft.

A two-stage missile, the BrahMos is powered by a solid propellant booster engine, and equipped with stealth technology, guidance systems and advanced embedded software.

The IAF currently uses Sukhoi Su-30’s variant model Sukhoi Su-30 MKI, a multirole strike fighter jet, capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
